Museum Planet presents a comprehensive narrated, digital photo tour (inside and out) of the the historic ghost mining town Bodie, California.
Bodie is mining history, industrial history and human pathos. A facinating remote place it is perhaps the best preserved ghost town in America. It was about gold. Although the town never hit it big like Virginia, City, Nevada, Bodie was an important mining town. President Herbert Hoovers brother, Theodore, ran the Standard Mine for a time. Young and old alike will like and learn from this tour.
In many ways our tour is better than being there. You see it all in the comfort of your favorite chair. You can stop and start the tour; jump around in it by choosing particular photos, or stop the tour to read the often extensive text - which is always on the same page as the photograph. You can enlarge all the color photos with a ‘swoosh’ of your finger.
